Letchworth, The Fenners building.

The Fenners building is a former light industrial building located near the centre of Letchworth Garden City. It has recently been converted into artists? studios with the support of the Letchworth Heritage Foundation. The building has 17 studios and specialist equipment includes a multipurpose room suitable as both a teaching area and exhibition space, as well as kilns. This has been what has taken up my time over 2012. Fenners Building was a derelict building site with the remnants of industrial and commercial use abandoned inside. Clearing took months as did painting and organising and then finally moving in and getting settled. George Woodcraft drove the project and kept us all motivated with his drive and enthusiasm and we have all been kind to each other during the process, understanding we could not all be there at all times as family and work fought for our time too but in the end it was worth it and our first event ' The Big Draw' was a huge success. Working with other artists in a space dedicated to getting messy and exploration is a dream come true.
